Hunt for Disgruntled LAPD Officer Continues

Despite receiving several calls of reported sightings of Christopher Dorner from LA County residents, the LAPD has yet to locate the disgruntled officer on the loose. Dorner is currently suspected of killing three people. LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said, "We will not tolerate this reign of terror." This 'reign of terror' began on February 4th when Dorner allegedly killed a police officer's daughter and her fiancé in Irvine. There is a $1 million reward for information leading to Dorner's arrest and across LA County, a beefed up police presence is undeniable. According to the Los Angeles police chief, "This is the largest local reward ever offered, to our knowledge. This is an act of domestic terrorism. This is a man who has targeted those that we entrust to protect the public. His actions cannot go unanswered."

Dorner was recognized in the past as a skilled rifle marksman and as a pistol expert. In his online manifesto, Dorner said he would use "every bit of small arms training, demolition, ordnance and survival training I've ever been given" to bring "warfare" on the LAPD and its families. An aggressive manhunt was conducted in Big Bear where Dorner's truck was discovered. The crime spree has spread across so many communities in Southern California, the FBI and US Marshall Service has joined in the investigation. The manhunt has been one of the largest in the history of Southern California, stretching from Orange County to Mexico to Big Bear Lake.

Individuals are wondering how long this manhunt can continue and how so many LAPD officers and family members can be protected from the wrath of Dorner. The LAPD has currently deployed 50 protection details to guard officers and families.

A no bail arrest warrant is currently out for Dorner, which means that he can be arrested anywhere within California, out of state or out of the country. Besides facing murder charges, Dorner faces some aggravating circumstances, including killing a police officer on duty and firing a weapon from a vehicle.

CBS has reported that thousands of people on Facebook are actually supporting Dorner. There are nearly 3,000 likes of the page "I Support Christopher Jordan Dorner" with the description on the page reading "We Are All Chris Dorner."
